In 2016, the Great Barrier Reef was hit by the largest and most far-reaching bleaching event in recorded history, an environmental disaster which continues to ravage coral up and down the east coast.
In the midst of the unfolding crisis, OLSEN artist Laura Jones was compelled to travel to the remote islands of Lizard and Heron Island, where she worked as an artist-in-residence alongside research scientists for ten days.
Laura joined Nic Healey, 2ser's Breakfast host, in the studio to describe her reef adventure and discuss how art can help us to connect with this beautiful and vulnerable ecosystem.
